The thing about my life is that I frequently forget my age. Because I started traveling alone at such a young age, I missed out on most of the stuff my friends were doing while I was working. One of the things I never did was get a license. I knew I always wanted to live in a city, but I’m home often enough that I still should have access to some type of vehicle. I failed my license test last year, and last week, I finally got the guts to retake the license test before my shoot in New Haven.
Tests legit make me shake. I was shaking the entire way from the door of the DMV to the door of the car. The poor instructor was probably thinking, WTF is wrong with this chick. Maybe that’s why he passed me? Any who, I can cross crying in the parking lot of the DMV off of my bucket list.
I spoke at Hartford Public High School, British International School of Boston and Kinsella this week in Connecticut and Boston, which was thrilling and exhausting. MINT is the closest thing to my heart right now, but you don’t realize how much you don’t ever want to talk again after speaking a straight two hours in a row. Man, that was tough!
See you next week, Connecticut for more schools!

I put on my new Primark outfit (that I got for under $30!) and my favorite studded Valentino heels, and headed out to Jamaica Plain to speak to over 100 students from ages 10-18. I started as a fashion turned lifestyle blogger, and now, my entire mission has turned from working in the fashion industry to inspiring the rest of the world to follow their dreams and love who they are.
I just wrapped up another discussion at Hartford Public High School as well, so thanks to everyone who came out to both of them. Scroll through the slideshow above to see more from the discussion, and stay tuned for more live feeds.

The past few days have been rough. I’ve been going through some personal stuff in my life, stuff that I never thought I’d be going through because I frequently run on 100 MPH. Between traveling, TV segments, blog posts, MINT, and everything else, my life is a whirlwind 24/7. I find that I work best on high levels of stress, so my body doesn’t really mind it, but this weekend, it hit me.
Being 18 and owning a business isn’t easy. I show you guys what’s most inspirational for you to see: the TV segments where I look my best (I don’t wake up in hair and makeup, if you didn’t know that already!) and the phenomenal travel I’m lucky to go on… Occasionally, it just becomes too much for my little 18 year old soul. So that’s what happened this weekend. I needed a few days to hang out at home, in my bed, watching Netflix and eating chocolate to reboot.
What helps me when I’m feeling down? Working out, writing, and cooking. Today, I got up, spilt coffee on my laptop and it died, and ended up at Soul Cycle by my apartment to sweat out my anger. If you’re feeling down, I highly suggest working out. Those endorphin runs cure just about everything!
I love working from my home state. It’s so much more fun than working from a different city. Mainly because I can bring my mom on set with me.

I headed to New Haven, CT yesterday for a segment with CT Style that’s airing as we speak. I had three models that I presented looks on; and the theme was fitness to function. Since I’m a fitness fanatic as most of you know, I loved discussing outfits you can wear from the gym to dinner. As long as you shower (only if ya want 😉 you can definitely wear these looks from a cute tennis match or quick workout to a school activity or date night.
I got up at 5 AM to head to hair + makeup at The Hive in New Haven, owned by young entrepreanur Jenna. I wasn’t aware of how young Jenna was, and I don’t think she knew my age either, so I had a blast chatting with her while she put together my hair and made me look quite glam. At early morning shoots, it’s hard to imagine what you’d look like when the bags under your eyes disappear, and she assisted so much with making me feel confident and ready for my appearance.
The cool thing about Fashion Week is it’s one of the rare time during the year where I’m surrounded by completely daring and creative individuals.
The cool thing about Fashion Week is it’s one of the rare time during the year where I’m surrounded by completely daring and creative individuals. As much as I hate dressing up and standing at a fashion show, I love people watching, seeing what terribly awful (or insanely cool) clothing will come down the runway, and who designed it.
This season, I kept it pretty chill, heading to more parties than shows, and making sure to bring as many friends as possible. I’m probably the worst show goer around, but hey, everything I do makes for a cool Snapchat video..
A friend of mine brought down a few friends to the city, and they ended up renting a sick Airbnb in the West Village that happened to be owned by a few musicians and producers. I’m super into music (fun fact) even though I can’t sing or produce, so I love being around musical people. We decided to spend the night at the Airbnb, chilling in the studio, leaving for a few minutes to head to the Jeremy Scott afterparty, and then going back to hang out until early hours of the AM.
One of my best friends, Andrew, came into town for fashion week, so he was snapping pics the entire time. I like pictures that are totally authentic, sometimes people are looking at the camera and sometimes no one is, you know? Those make for the sickest photoshoots.
I feel weird saying black is back. Not that black ever went out of style, but because I never started wearing black until I turned 19. I always thought wearing black under 18 was kind of a sin. When you’re a teenager, you can get away with wearing basically anything, so you might as well wear as much color as you can, am I right?
Now that I’m almost 19, I find myself wearing more and more black. I decided to wear this black outfit to the Banana Republic presentation at NYFW last week, and I fit into the New York crowd more than I expected. People in New York City love being mysterious…it’s so different than LA where everyone is happy drinking their green juice and smoking weed. Wear as much color as you want in Cali, but in NYC, if you aren’t wearing black, you might as well be an alien…
Wow, Fashion Week is already over. That was just about the quickest week of my life. I skipped my shows yesterday to work from a coffee shop and get some MINT stuff done, which was a good enough excuse for me to opt out of the frenzy that comes with Fashion Week.
Comparing Fashion Week four years ago, when I first started going, to now, it’s literally like a different world. As much as I wish it wasn’t true, Fashion Week has gone from an esteemed and inspiring showcase to a frenzy of teenagers and FIT students trying to attend every fashion show. What happened, Fashion Week!? You used to be so cool! As of right now, this will probably be my last season attending Fashion Week. I’m always done to go to Paris and London shows, but New York has become too fake for me.
When you work in this world for long enough, the “fakeness” starts to get to you. Everyone thinks being a blogger is soooo cool nowadays. How many people trying to be bloggers are actually doing it for a meaningful reason?
I partnered with Charlotte’s Closetthis season, and was wearing looks by them almost everyday on my Instagram! Getting to rent something each day is one of the coolest part of CC. I’ve also been teaming up with DIFF sunglasses, the hippest new sunglass brand that gives back to charity the minute you buy a pair. Stay tuned for much more coming up with them!
Another one of my favorite shows each season is Milly. My girl, Grace, and I headed to the show to sit front row and get a glimpse of the latest styles.
Another one of my favorite shows each season is Milly. My girl, Grace, and I headed to the show to sit front row and get a glimpse of the latest styles. Last season was definitely more impressive, but I fell in love with the earthy looking gowns I saw. Clothing like this is stuff I’d wear all of the time, you know? I hate going to fashion shows where the clothing is not runway to real life, because expensive clothing should be able to be worn quite a lot of times.
I kinda of love this look, especially with the contrast of me wearing pink and Grace wearing black + white. Boohoohas an extensive selection of clothing that’s insanely affordable and chic- if you’ve never checked them out, make sure to do so!
New York Fashion Week has been absolute madness so far! Immediately after getting here on Thursday, I went straight to the Just Drew presentation to kick off my 10th season.

New York Fashion Week has been absolute madness so far! Immediately after getting here on Thursday, I went straight to the Just Drew presentation to kick off my 10th season. I wasn’t sure what to wear, so I borrowed my friends leather Joie jacket and threw on my favorite Jack Wills skirt. Boohoo sent me these amazing shoes, and I’ve been literally wearing them to every show. That’s so good, but also probably so bad…oh well.
I adored Just Drew. I wasn’t familiar with the line prior to getting the invite, but apparently, Just Drew is the up and coming line to watch. I was anticipating some shows being worse than others this season, because New York Fashion Week is drastically changing, but starting the season with Drew was a great decision. Between the beautiful and earthy clothing, the greenery, and the crowd, I’d wear every piece.
My friend Max showed up, along with his friend and my best friend Grace. We posed next to the models, and examined the clothing while laughing over fashion stuff. Having friends in this industry makes my life truly so much easier.
