I got to NYC last night to spend a few days in the city for Fashion Week! I can’t believe it’s my 10th season. Wow, does time fly…

This morning, I got up super early to head to Good Morning America for a segment with Gigi Hadid x Tommy Hilfiger! I went to bed around 1, and got up at 4:30…wow, Fashion Week is literally Fashion Weak every season.

Catch the segment HERE! Look, Gigi Hadid is my new best friend! Hehe.

I’m wearing a dress by Charlotte’s Closet, which is my favorite brand to wear during Fashion Week. I love that I can switch clothing out so easily, and everything is so affordable. All of my favorite brands for less: how can I resist?

Alexa x Stok Cold-Brew

I’m a coffee addict. I’m not even slightly obsessed, I’m actually in love with coffee. If I could date coffee, I totally would.

I’m a coffee addict. I’m not even slightly obsessed, I’m actually in love with coffee. If I could date coffee, I totally would.

You know when you put milk in coffee, and instantly, you’re transported from black coffee to that beautiful, creamy look that everyone posts on Instagram?

Ugh, that’s my favorite part of you, coffee.

With a new wave of boutique coffee taking over the industry, it’s interesting to watch how much people are willing to pay for fancy coffee nowadays. For me, I’ll splurge when I want to, but for the most part, I’m fine with making my coffee at home or grabbing something out of the fridge. One brand I’ve recently come across is SToK™ coffee. This brand is for the totally coffee obsessed. Cold brewed and slow brewed, strong enough to make sure you make any meeting or class just by taking one or two sips.

Coffee, or your new best friend?

I’m an entrepreanur, which means I’m always looking for the next best thing. I’m looking for items that push the limits, make me think, and most importantly, do things differently. You’d be surprised at what drinking this coffee has already done to me. It’s like inspiration in a bottle, with no weird ingredients or side effects!

I know most of you guys are heading BTS around now, which is why I’ve put together a school tutorial for you to get right in your element, and stay alert and hydrated while doing so.

1. Wake up, and wash your face!

2. Drink a tall glass of water with lemon. Take some vitamins, too!

3. Put together your school items, whether you need to put pencils and a notebook in your backpack or you have to print off some homework!

4. Head to your fridge, grab a SToK™ coffee, your backpack, and potentially an extra coffee for the go…and voila!

Get ready to have the BEST day of school EVER!

Drink SToK™ from Walmart and get inspired.

What’s More Important?

If there is one thing I’ve learned about being a teen blogger working in the fashion industry, it’s that you have to pick and choose your battles.

If there is one thing I’ve learned about being a teen blogger working in the fashion industry, it’s that you have to pick and choose your battles.

It’s taken me a decent 4.5 years to determine what my place is. I started as a fashion blogger, and then I went into some more lifestyle stuff, and now I’d like to say I’m neither. I’m still blogging, but the content I’ve been writing about has been slightly altered.

Working in fashion is too superficial for me. With so many bloggers nowadays “blogging” to make money and become rich, the industry is so saturated. It’s quite different from I first started, when you had to actually want something for a stronger reason than fame or money.

That’s why I’ve teamed up with Bridg-it,  an anti-bullying platform that I’m so insanely passionate about. After speaking at the Talkspace conference on mental health + social media in April, I realized that there are tons of bloggers out there talking about fashion and food…but there aren’t too many talking about self-love, body image, dating, and topics that teens face everyday.

That’s when I realized it’s much more important to follow your passion, mine is inspiring teens more than anything, than it is to make money or anything else. If you’re doing what you love, and for a really great reason, everything else will follow.

Check out the post I wrote on my experience as a teen model, when I realized I could change the way teens look at themselves:

Sidecar Donuts

When I was on the phone with my sister yesterday, she asked me whether or not I eat the food I post. She was like, “if you don’t eat the food, aren’t you kind of scamming people?”

When I was on the phone with my sister yesterday, she asked me whether or not I eat the food I post. She was like, “if you don’t eat the food, aren’t you kind of scamming people?” which is like 900% true. If a blogger, like myself, posts pictures with food she never eats, is she really a motivational blogger?

Nahhhh.

I always see lifestyle bloggers post pictures of lots of good food, but I always wonder, do they actually eat it?

No, if I get 7 comped donuts the size of my head, I’m not going to eat all of them. Not because I’m scared of gaining one pound or because I care what I look like stuffing donuts down my face- I simply wouldn’t eat 7 full donuts because I wouldn’t exact feel supa cute after (more like supa stuffed!)

But did I eat these donuts? Yep, I tried all of them, and ate about 3/4 of the gluten-free cinnamon donut. Sidecar Donuts are damn tasty: I couldn’t resist!

If I wanted to eat 7 full donuts, I totally would’ve. If you want to, too, go FOR IT!

Just love who you are. Wear what you want. Eat everything you want to, and don’t eat what you don’t want to eat. Definitely don’t ever listen to anyone who tells you NOT to eat something. That person isn’t your friend!

Good Day LA

Have you ever had a moment where you just have to take a step back and realize how far you’ve come?

Club Monaco outfit, La Mer watch, hair by MissKellyBelle

Have you ever had a moment where you just have to take a step back and realize how far you’ve come? I keep having those moments, whether it’s when I’m on set, or whether I’m shooting a campaign or even drinking some fancy coffee drink and snapping pics. I have come so far from the insecure, sheltered kid I was in Connecticut. From writing in my bedroom to writing on airplanes (with wifi!), negotiating with brands and branding myself, inspiring teens to follow their dreams…

Damn, it’s been a long ride.

I’ve made some career goals along the way, one being to appear on Good Day LA/KTLA, for some odd reason. Maybe it’s just because everyone loves Cali, and you’ve “made it” once you’re working in LA and New York? Or maybe I’m just weird. Probably the latter…

I appeared on GDLA today to showcase 4 looks for under $100 each: two guys, and two girls. I woke up at the crack of dawn (4 AM) to prep with hair and makeup, then head to the studio with ALS Limo, my go-to car service when I’m in Cali.

My rad models wore looks from CoobieSears, Novesta, La Mer watches, and AVON jewelry.

Shooting with Bridg-it

Primark dress and sneakers, Blo Blow Dry Bar hair and makeup

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life, or it felt like it. I woke up and headed to Blo in the South End of Boston, where I got my hair and makeup down before my shoot with Bridg-it!

Since I’m officially the Bridg-it spokesperson, it’s really important to me that I have as much knowledge on bullying as possible. I learned a new statistic yesterday, which is that 1/7 kids in grades K-12 are a bully or a victim of bullying. What can we do, as a world and community, to drastically bring that statistic now?

Between my project, MINT, and Bridg-it, I have high hopes that over the next few years, we can work together to deter the bullying rate and continue to inspire more young adults to be confident and follow their dreams.

The caption yesterday on my Instagram post was:

I had this weird realization at the gym yesterday that I no longer have the body I had when I was modeling. I have curves, I have muscle, I have fat on my body! Regardless of what I eat or how much I workout, my body will look like this. And that’s okay. Cause this girl is much better than the girl that used to workout for 3 hours a day, and count the calories of an apple.

As open as that caption may sound, it’s something I’ve been realizing every time I go to the gym. I look at myself in the mirror, whether I’m in barre or boxing, running or swimming, and see muscle, fat, and skin on my body. I get a little worked up over it, because as I said, I’m not a size 00 with abs and a perfectly chiseled face structure. As much as I want to look like that, I never will.

And accepting who you are is the first step to getting closer to loving yourself.

If you’re in LA, make sure to tune in to GOOD DAY LA (!!!) tomorrow morning to catch me talking about cheap and trendy fashion looks!

Courtney Rashon Book Launch!

I’m so thrilled to be heading to LA on Thursday for a segment with Good Day LA on Friday! I’ve waited my entire life to appear on this station (I’m not sure why!) so the fact that I’ve finally booked a shoot with them is making me equally excited and nervous. There’s so much planning to get done, so I’m in Boston for the next few days, working away, to make sure that the shoot is everything and more!

On Wednesday, I’m shooting my first spokesperson video with Bridg-it, the new anti-bullying platform that I’m working with. I’m pretty pumped to experiment with the next chapter of changing the world, and teaming up with Bridg-it makes me even more excited about reducing the amount of bullying that occurs online and in schools.

On Thursday, I attended Courtney Rashon’s new book launch at the PHD Dream Downtown, and made my way onto the red carpet for a bit of press to promote her book. I highly suggest buying it if you haven’t already- she’s seriously SO sweet, and you don’t meet many sweet, genuine people in this industry anymore!

See you on Thursday, Los Angeles!

MINT: Media Impact and Navigation for Teens

As many of you guys know, I’ve been working on a project to revamp the DARE system. Something I feel very passionately about is that there is a major lack of people who are willing to openly discuss issues that young adults face, ranging from cutting, to confidence, to eating disorders. I try and speak as much as I can about the issues I’ve dealt with, but there needs to be even more people willing to stand up in an attempt to decrease the amount of young adults facing these problems alone.

That’s where I came up for the idea for MINT, Media Impact and Navigation for Teens. After speaking at the Talkspace conference back in April, on social media and mental health, I realized how urgent the matter is. I want to be the person that stands up for young adults in this world, and with MINT, I finally have the chance to speak to kids, face to face, without social media getting in the way. No cell phones at my assembly, kids!!!

Just kidding- you can use them, but only to Snapchat. 😉

Huffington Post released an interview with me TODAY, and I’m SO thrilled that MINT is getting some attention. I’ve got even more great press scheduled before MINT launches, so stay tuned for everything coming up, and read through the article to hear more about my endeavor.

5 Minutes with Primark

Primark top + overalls, Stuart Weitzman heels (via my girl, Abie) and Hemsley London bag

Hair by Inanch London

The cool thing about fashion is that you (literally) don’t have to spend a ton to look hella cute. I mean, if you want to spend $3k on a pair of black heels, you’re totally welcome to, it’s just nothing something that most of us can do everyday.

Plus, why spend that much money on one item when you could get three items for the price of one? That’s why I adore stores like Primark and Forever 21. I went shopping with my $100 gift card to Primark in London at their flagship store, and managed to get an entire look for under $50 in under 50 minutes. Minus the shoes and the bag, Primark had everything I needed for a night out. I filmed my shopping trip- see it on YouTube here!

As I get older, so do you guys, but that doesn’t mean that any of our personality traits have to change. I’ll never spend more than $1k on a bag, whether I’m a multi-millionaire or simply living life like I am right now. Too many people in this world are hurting to spend that much, you know?
