Aside from the beautiful name of the brand, also that of the Creative Director, GEORGINE Fall 2015 RTW line was nothing short of exceptional. Featuring a rainbow of deep hues, huge furs, and an afro-tastic hairdo – Georgine’s attempt to incorporate the 1970s into her modern-day line was quite successful. A personal favorite of mine from the collection had to be the purple fur coat paired with nothing but a pair of black platform heels – utter design perfection. High slits, short shorts, and coats with nothing underneath exposed an incredible amount of leg (legs fo’ days!) but none went without a sheer pair of stockings to tie each look together. Georgine mastered the layered look for fall, but never without the showing of a little skin – oh-so-sexy! The young 24-year-old up-and-coming fashion designer has stepped up her game and gave her peers a run for their money (watch out Karl and Marc, because here comes GEORGINE!).

Madewell scarf/jacket/heels, Almost Famous shirt/vest/pants, Carolee necklace
Much of London style is learning to layer. That means (assuming most of you are girls) is a bra, a tank top, a top, a top on top of that top, a sweater, a jacket, and one (or 10) scarves. On this particular day, I threw on a bunch of new clothing from Madewell and Almost Famous. I ended up splurging on a pair of shoes and this jacket at Madewell in Connecticut last week, since dragging a 20 lb. Canada Goose jacket across the globe was not too intriguing to me. Not frequently will you catch me spending $100+ each on shoes and a jacket, though in this situation, I knew I’d be wearing both almost everyday. I was absolutely right. This jacket has become a staple, as it’s not too heavy for running around all day, and these heeled booties match with just about everything in my wardrobe. Never be afraid to invest in staple pieces, as long as you know you’ll wear them frequently!
In between shows, I managed to stop in to Blo Blow Dry Bar in Covent Garden for a quick blowout between shows. You probably remember me featuring Blo in the U.S. (specifically when I appeared on Rachael Ray) so being able to try Blo in the UK was exciting. My stylist was actually from Canada, so we bonded over a mutual adoration for creative fields, and she blew my hair out to absolute perfection. If you’ve got an extra 45 minutes in your day, or an event/evening out planned, stop by Blo in Covent Garden. You won’t regret this luxury outing!

Everyone has a career moment when they know they’ve essentially “made” it in any industry. For me, it was being on Rachael Ray when I was 16. After appearing on the show, I wanted bigger. I wanted better. Last season was my first season combatting LFW, and I didn’t get to attend many of the larger shows, so this season, I knew I was going to get access.
Getting into the Topshop show at LFW is almost as hard as getting into the Chanel show at PFW. People just don’t get in. Unless you’re Kendall Jenner, or your sister is Kate Moss, the likelihood of you getting access to Topshop Unique is 0 to 0. I made it 0 to 100 two days ago when I attended Topshop at the Tate Britain! Everyone from Kendall Jenner, to Bryanboy, to Alexa Chung sat front row and watched one of the UK’s most renowned retailers put their clothing down the runway.

That past two days have been absolute madness. Yesterday, I stopped by the ME London hotel to preview the Hemyca collection at LFW. What I’ve noticed with London collections is how black everything seems to be. That sounds utterly depressing. Don’t mistake me, the clothing is chic and articulate, but the color schemes are somewhat dreary. I assume that’s due to the bipolar weather (sun one minute, hailing rain the next) though I wouldn’t be opposed to a little more color.
After seeing a few more collections throughout the day, I headed to the Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery for afternoon tea. You’re never going to get me to say no to an afternoon filled with clotted cream, jam, and scones. Maybe that’s because London is in my blood (my mom is from the UK!) or maybe I’m just a freak when it comes to my obsession with clotted cream. Probably both…
After doing the whole fashion week thing for 6 seasons now, you begin to realize everything is about how you look and present yourself. How many shows have I snuck into? Don’t ask. Do I frequently lie to security guards about having backstage access?
You can answer that question yourself.

Hi all! I’m reporting live from London! I got here early last morning, and have been non-stop running around to shows all yesterday and all today. It’s 5 PM here, so I’m finally having a little downtime in my hotel room at the moment. Jet lag ain’t stopping this girl (as much as I wish I could sleep for the next 48 hours…) I sadly can’t.
After arriving at 10:30 AM yesterday with Addison Lee who picked me up from the airport, I came straight to the Tune Hotel in Westminster to check in. Having a driver pick me up straight from the airport took major stress off of me to get to the hotel on my own, and I was riding in style to my hotel. The driver couldn’t have been any more suitable and appropriate, which made me very satisfied during my time in the car!
I began the day by heading to Minnan Huah show, and then heading to hang at the ME London hotel for the UGG Australia preview. After that, the Ashley Isham show and a fun event last night! Compared to NYFW, LFW is a lot more laid back. The style is trendy and appropriate for the windy but warm weather here, and the designers are incredibly sweet. I witnessed a decent amount of exuberant fashion yesterday: we’re talking bright colors blocked together. Mimi Tran (whose show was this afternoon) totally impressed me. Her exquisite designs were utterly stunning. I’d wear every single piece.
I’ll get you more snaps and updates over the next few days!

There’s not much one can do to get me out of my apartment on a night where it’s -4 degrees. Maybe for a donut, but not much else…
Oh, and one more reason: Veronica Beard. I’ve been taking New York Fashion Week easy because I didn’t want to go crazy right before a week of shows in London, so I’ve decreased my usual show intake. When I got the VB show invite, I was obviously already one step ahead, by planning my outfit I’d be wearing to the show. This was the show I knew I’d definitely be going to.
I’ve been following Veronica Beard basically since day one, when she began exposing out her glittery and upscale pieces to the public. Over the past 2 seasons, she’s hit it big, and everyone can see why. For one, she’s incredibly sweet and beautiful, which defines the top two traits of any designer. More important, is her talent with designing. You can click through these images above to instantly see her creativity and ability to give the public affordable, sexy, and wearable clothing. I’ve fallen head over heels in love with her Fall/Winter collection (of course I have) and basically need every piece. Who wants to plan a trip to Colorado to go skiing with me now?

Finding new designers is one of my ultimate life goals. Finding new designers that inspire me extensively? The life goal. I was at a fitting for Almost Famous a few days ago, when someone in the office wanted to take me a few blocks away to a different showroom, to introduce me to a design whom I was not familiar with. I couldn’t say no.
We arrived at a huge penthouse in Midtown, and went through this huge building to a tiny atelier in the basement. I was a little confused: for a designer who has dressed everyone from Elle Fanning to Michelle Obama, wouldn’t his office be a little more, I don’t know, chic? Never judge a book by it’s cover, my friends.
Byron Lars started designing at a young age. I don’t frequently meet many designers or people in fashion (for that matter) with a vision similar to mine: make people feel incredible in what they wear. Byron shares this vision. He’s also a genuinely rad and sweet person.
After a box of Godiva chocolates and a piece of sweet potato pie (I love modeling) Byron and a woman named Sheila (who also has her own line) gave me one look, and threw this dress at me. They had one pair of size 9 heels left I tried the dress on with, and at that point, everyone knew this was the dress I’d be walking out with. I didn’t even have to try anything else on (as much as I wanted to spend hours frolicking through every single piece).
As I get older, I find myself attracted more to heels and Herve Leger inspired dresses than lots of glitter and poof. Or maybe it just took a stop into Byron Lar’s office for me to realize that.

Almost Famous sweater/pants, Aeropostale sneakers, Oscar and Anna bag, Reason Clothing hat, Aeropostale necklace
New York Fashion Week has officially begun. I started with the Creatures of the Wind and Honor show to kickoff my sixth season (woohoo!) and adored everything from Creatures, while I left wanting more from Honor. When you get past your fourth season of fashion week, you realize that the battle becomes more about being comfortable than looking chic enough for street style photographers. Goodbye heels, hello wedge sneakers. This tactic applies to real life too, regardless of whether it’s the most elite show in the world, or simply a day at school.
I preach this frequently, but wear what you love. Wear what makes YOU feel sexy. I guarantee you that you will not succeed to your greatest degree unless you’re following the exact path that you want to follow.
Do what you love.

So, what does one pack for an international fashion week during winter? Layers. Lots and lots of layers. I’ll probably be in sweatpants and sneakers half the time, running around trying to catch half my shows as well as sightsee a bit. That doesn’t mean any regular sweatpants: I’m talking about Stella McCartney type sweatpants, and maybe you’ll catch me trying to rock a pair of Kanye West x Adidas. Who knows at this point…

After moving to New York, I realize how important it is to get away. And get away frequently. The city is overwhelming with non-stop motion, and as exciting as that is, you begin to get those moments where you want peace and quiet.
On Saturday, my friend Serena came to visit from upstate, and I decided to whisk us away to the Hamptons for some R&R. We stayed with Baker House 1650, which is known as one of the most popular inns in East Hampton. My last time in the Hamptons was in the summer, which was fantastic because East Hampton is on the water, but it was also very crowded for a small town. Winter in East Hampton is the polar opposite. It’s quiet (eerily quiet), freezing, and serene. Looking outside a big glass window in the morning to a fresh blanket of snow defines the exact peaceful getaway I needed.
To get out to the Hamptons, we took the Jitney. I’m frequently taking crappy bus services back and forth from CT to NYC, so I was not expecting to have a 2.5 hour bus ride of luxury. Cheaper than the train yet (likely) the most elite form of travel from the Hamptons to New York, book yourself a trip on the Jitney asap.
