I’m not quite sure why black gets such a negative rep in this industry. I understand a black cat on your doorstep may not exactly be an ideal morning wake-up, but I’m not opposed to throwing a lot of the color black in my wardrobe lately.
When I was in London, everyone was wearing black like it was their day job. For a dreary city, I can see why people aren’t wearing neon green the same way they are wearing a basic black sweater. If you’re ever feeling like you’ve got too much black in your closet, think again. That being said, don’t hide yourself from bright colors like neon green and pink, just don’t hinder yourself to a specific color combination because it’s “safe.”
Fashion is all about playing the game.
P.S. Really excited to announce I’ll be on the Rachael Ray show on Monday. Stay tuned!

Anytime I have any sort of event coming up, you’ll catch me in the Byron Lars showroom. This month is bound to be a busy one, with LA and Delaware coming up, I’m always in need of a fresh look for galas and meetings. Plus, working with an impeccable team (and a great stylist) always makes a difference.
Sorry for the short post!

Everlane sweater, Sanctuary skirt, Madewell shoes, Phillip Lim bag, Express necklace, Hard Candy sunglasses
On Tuesday, Hard Candy invited me out to New Jersey for the premiere of their Walmart Collection. My sister came with me, and she was the perfect person since she grew up with the brand. They’re notorious for their rings on nail polish, which is basically painting your nails with the benefits on a ring-pop inspired ring. Um, yes!
If you can’t already tell, I’m pretty obsessed with this Sanctuary skirt. From Easter brunch to a trip to New Jersey, I’m calling the piece my spring staple. What’s even more exciting is how versatile one skirt can be: heels, sneakers, sweaters, statement necklaces…and more. Everything in my closet matches you, beautiful sanctuary skirt.

Jacksonville wasn’t exactly the sunniest place in Florida during my time there last week. More low 60s than high 80s, that’s for sure. On a particularly warm day, my mom and I ventured to the Cummer Museum a short walk away from our bungalow for brunch and an art-filled day. If you know me, you know I despise museums. That’s a strong word to describe my semi-hatred for museums, but comes close to what I think about them. They totally bore me (to be completely honest) and I rarely go to them, unless it’s the Met. Don’t ask me if I’m going to the Met solely due to Blair and Serena. Just don’t ask.
To my surprise, I was shocked at how much Cummer surprised me. The art was chic and crafty, not boring and all sculptures. Outside the museum was this stunning garden, filled with mini ponds and perfectly trimmed trees. You might not be able to convince me to go to the MoMa unless I’m in the mood, but if you’re inviting me back to Jacksonville’s museum, I’m in.

Renting a house is something very different than anything I’ve ever done, travel-wise. I’m your quintessential hotel snub: as much as I hate to admit it, when you stay in a massive amount of hotels, you become used to nice gyms, room service, and getting to call downstairs just for the sake of calling downstairs. My mom tagged along with me on this trip to be on set with me a few days ago, and I forced myself to try something different, aka Airbnb. A little bungalow on the river is actually a cute little dream of mine, so finally being able to make that dream a reality is exciting.
Sanctuary sent me a ton of pieces to choose from for my Channel 4 segment (see that here!) and this beautiful floral dress didn’t make the cut, which meant it’s perfectly for basically everything else besides a TV segment. I took a shower prior to dinner last night, spritzed some Bumble & Bumble surf spray in, and threw on this flirty frock. Beach ready in under 10 minutes.

I just wrapped up a super fun shoot with Channel 11 in Jacksonville, FL! Even though it’s a little rainy here today, anything is better than 20 degree weather. After my driver with Taxi Terry dropped me off (what a fantastic private car service!) I met my models inside the studio to get the segment in order. This time, we discussed little black dresses, which is a fun way to get young adults embracing an older trend. Both of the girls are wearing dresses + shoes by Lands End, and jewelry by Express.
I’ll post a link to the segment when I have it- thanks to everyone who tuned in!

Charlotte’s Closet dress, Sandro sweater, Chanel bag, Guess heels, Louis Vuitton scarf
I’m live-typing from a Starbucks while waiting for my bus to head to the airport to catch a flight to Florida in a few hours! Warm weather, here I comeee! This bipolar, sometimes spring and sometimes winter East Coast weather is going to murder me if I stay here any longer. I’m taking over the Charlotte’s Closet Instagram page today (follow here!) so I had an impromptu photo shoot by my apartment yesterday afternoon to grab some snaps in another dress from this rad site. I haven’t been to prom yet, though it’s something I said I’d never pass up regardless of where I am in the globe, so I’m going to prom with my best friend in a few months. We’re obviously both going to be borrowing dresses since why spend $600 unnecessary bucks on a dress you’ll wear once!?
Follow along with my takeover today, and tune into Channel 11 in Jacksonville, FL tomorrow morning to catch me discussing little black dresses!

Oh boy, do I miss London. The cobblestone streets, kind Europeans, and late night fish and chips at hole-in-the-wall pubs. On my last day in London when FW just ended, I took the day to go to Kensington, which is the location my hotel was in for LFW last year.
Kensington is my most beloved areas in London. Since it’s not one of the most popular areas, you’re going to find the tourists in Westminster and over by the palace, so Kensington embraces European culture, without the “let me take a picture of the ground!” tourists. You can spend an entire day walking up and down Kensington High Street, grabbing cheap Indian food at one of the many little restaurants, or walking around Uniqlo and Topshop to find an outfit. If you’re in the area, make sure you stop into the Whole Foods Kensington, as I’d probably travel on a plane six hours (weekly) to visit this particular location.
Happy Friday!

One of my favorite parts of Paris was wandering up and down the quaint little streets, stopping in for an Eclair while crossing the bridge to wander up more cobbled lanes. There’s two scenes that seriously attract me when it comes to taking quality pictures in day to day life, and that is graphic walls, and cobblestone streets. Manhattan is filled with streets (basically holes) where you can spend a whole day trying not to catch your heel and fall to death on a stone. Paris is quite similar.
If you’ve never been to a new city or town different from the one you live in, I highly suggest taking a day to wander around with no set schedule. You have the chance to meet and mingle with the locals, indulge in food that is much tastier than any of the overpriced food you’ll find at the trendy restaurants, and relax.

I just wrapped up a fantastic shoot for Great Day Houston! My flight arrived at 7 PM last night, and the driver from SW Drivers brought me directly to the Hilton hotel in downtown Houston! After a quick workout in the massive gym, I ordered room service and prepped notes for the shoot today!
A 5:30 AM wake-up call was not exactly appealing, but I jumped in the shower, and met the driver downstairs to head right to hair. Styling Bar invited me into the salon for a blow-dry before my shoot, and they treated me SO well, offering me cookies and Nespresso just like I was in Paris! The owners travel between Houston and Paris, so they know the Parisian way. Oh so chic.
Now onto the actual shoot. I had some fantastic brands a part of the segment. Charlotte’s Closet (a new site that allows fashionistas to borrow their ideal prom dresse for over 75% off), Life is Good, Karen Kane, Naturelle Pro, and Naturalizer Shoes.
