Banana Republic x Timo Weiland

13 September 2015

Fashion Week has changed. And I have to say, it’s not for the better. After ditching Lincoln Center and decided to move all shows off-site to a new studio in the middle of nowhere as well as Meatpacking area, New Yorkers are running around the city like madness trying to find new venues. 7 seasons in, the thrill has officially disappeared of sitting front row and watching the lights come up while models strut down the runway.

S/S 2016 collections have also been surprisingly disappointing. I’ve been to over four shows in the past 36 hours, and only two have stood out. One that took my fancy was Banana Republic x Timo Weiland, held at the Highline Stages in Meatpacking. Timo is one of my all-time favorite designers, and Banana Republic’s minimalist yet sexy collections never fail to disappoint.

If Banana Republic has one goal for 2016, it must be to be on a comparable level to J.Crew, since the models, the prints, and the exuberant shoes matched J.Crew’s quintessential collections. Flattering on everyone from a size 0 model to curvier gals, Banana Republic knows what’s up. Even their mens collection was equally sexy (do you see those male models!?)

Are you more of a J.Crew gal or will you be purchasing everything from Banana x Timo the minute it’s released?
