NYFW Day 1

12 September 2015

Welcome to New York Fashion Week: Season 7! I arrived early yesterday morning after a treacherous 5 AM wake-up call to make my Megabus, but you do watchya gotta do, right? With Megabus’ speedy, reliable service, there is no way I’m ever going to be late (unless I press snooze a few too many times!)

Upon arrival, I checked into my room at the Hotel Elysse, which was all ready for my arrival with lots of needed chocolate and water! I love this little gem: I highly suggest booking a room here if you’re visiting NYC. Plus, I’m snacking on their included breakfast right now!

Directly from checking in, I went to meet with one of my best friends in the world, Eljay, who runs @whyilovenewyorkcity. He’s such a spontaneous character, and totally doesn’t think he’s a photographer even though I tell him he’s got exactly the knack that every photographer I’ve worked with has. We spent the afternoon running around the streets in Soho with Eljay and my friend Nate, getting a story together for my second feature on his page! Then, we went and ordered mad tacos and guacamole and people watched from La Esquina.

Pamella Roland and Art Institutes were my only shows scheduled for yesterday, which was a relaxing beginning to my weekend attending shows. I loved PR, but didn’t adore anything at Academy of Art….I was quite disappointed with Academy of Art’s lack of diversity and intriguing collections from the designers showcasing. On the other hand, Pamella made up for that by her glitzy and sexy collection, showcased at the Whitney Museum.

Stay tuned for more NYFW, and don’t forget to enter to win your OWN Instax camera here!
