I woke up this morning and bought a plane ticket to Miami. I leave Thursday and get back on Tuesday. I’m not really quite sure why I did that, but I felt it in the moment. Life is too short to not live in the moment. Where better to spend Memorial Day than in the sunniest capital in the world?
This past week, I’ve spent most of my time home in CT and the weekend with one of my good friends in Boston. We spent Saturday in the city, and Sunday in the country, swimming in a beautiful lake and seeing a movie the rest of the day. If you live in a city too, you know what it’s like when you get to a point where you need a break. Having a mix between the city and the country is something I’m actually blessed to have, especially after growing up miserable with CT. They say the older you get, the wiser you get…
If you’re one of those people like I am, and you’re always chronically overthinking, give yourself a break. Don’t pass up the ice cream because you’re thinking about a “summer body” or a fantastic trip just because it’s a little pricey. I’ve never felt like living in the moment more than I do lately.
