Night With the Stars

17 April 2015

The thing about NYC is that it never sleeps. I mean literally, never sleeps. If I’m going out, I’m expecting to begin getting ready at the earliest 7 PM, and getting back at the last 4 AM. That just ain’t my style, kids.

Last night, I was invited to the YAPG Gala held at Lincoln Center, for an evening of ballet with Bella Thorne, Hailey Baldwin, and Amy Astley. Now that’s more my style. Knowing I had a gala coming up a few weeks ago meant I was expecting to wear my favorite designer, Byron Lars, to Lincoln Center. I tried on a bunch of dresses at the studio, and fell in love with this sparkly gown. Though it’s not something I’d usually pick to wear myself, I like changing my look up every once in a while. My sister is also in a gown by Byron!

Now to my hair and makeup. I collaborated with GLAMSQUAD and Rouge on this project, which was quite exciting, since I didn’t have to worry about allowing myself to take care of my own hair + makeup. If there’s two traits in this world that I lack, they would be hair and makeup. What’s rad about GS is they sent a stylist directly to my apartment- what’s easier than that? You can also choose to have your nails and makeup done, on top of a blowout. There’s seriously nothing better than feeling super stressed day of your event, and having your stylist show up totally ready at your front door.

I featured Rouge a while back last year for Fashion Week, and I was so pumped to be back in the studio in SoHo for another makeover! I didn’t even have to tell the makeup artist what I wanted- she knew what path she wanted to go down the minute she looked at me. I love a stylist like that.
