I just wrapped up shooting Fox 2 Now in St.Louis, and I’m headed back home to Boston (for hopefully more than three days this time!) The segment was all about holiday style, and how to get rocking looks on a budget. I wore a dress by Adrianna Papell, and my hair and makeup was done by Charlie at Salon One Six One and Amber Perry at Thirteenth and Washington. Both of them agreed to get up before the sun rose to help me out with this, and I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet two incredibly created souls!
Before we get to the looks, I wanted to shoutout Chesterfield Taxi for the most impeccable car service I’ve ever received during my short 24 hour trip. From on time airport pickup, to driving me from makeup to the studio and back to the airport (with a quick stop at Starbucks) I’ll be using this service every time I’m in town. My driver even agreed to stop and take pictures of my outfit in front of a rad wall downtown- SO cool!
Naturalizer and Burlington provided clothes + shoes, and I put one of my models in SockTabs. I’m calling this brand the accessory brand of 2016. Basically, they make sure that your socks don’t get tangled and lost when you’re washing them or traveling. Every gal needs comfy socks during the winter that are stylish and peek out of your bootie, and SockTabs amps up the style factor.
The girls also wore nail polish from Morgan Taylor. Inspired by rare gems and pearls, MT produces long-lasting, sexy nail polish that’s affordable and chic. If you need a gift for one of your girlfriends, I highly suggest purchasing one of their holiday packs, that comes complete with jewelry and a handy bag! The brand even attended NYFW this past year where popular nail techs Gina Edwards and Danielle Candido created looks for over ten designers’ shows. Â
Dune Jewelry supplied eclectic necklaces + bracelets, inspired by some of my favorite beaches (Watch Hill and Old Lyme). I’m seriously impressed with this brand: I’ve never come across a jewelry brand quite like it. Tell them the beach you adore or the one you went to as a child, and they’ll find sand from the beach and send you a stunning necklace/ bracelet set to have for the rest of your life!
The last brand is Portero– an online luxury store that carries an exquisite selection of designer handbags. For as low as $71 per month, you can have a new Chanel or Fendi bag hanging in your closet within a week. Everyone on set was going crazy over the bags: asking me if they could all take one home! Unfortunately, I had to say no, but that just means you should go online and buy one yourself!
During my short time in St. Louis, I stayed at the Magnolia Hotel. I always enjoy getting to go out and about around STL and adventure around. This hotel was located a little farther away from the main street in St. Louis, though the location was interesting and industrial. The lobby at this hotel is absolutely stunning, and the complimentary breakfast is an added plus of booking here. Of course, the staff have your classic Southern charm and were all incredibly kind and accommodating. They helped organize all of my packages for me before I arrived, which made an early morning shoot that much easier on me!  As expected, some major celebrities have even stayed at this vintage property in the past, like Harry Truman and John Barrymore. How stunning is the image above? My room liked this, and it was the nicest oasis I had my entire trip!
Book a night at the Magnolia Hotel in St. Louis for a business or pleasure trip, and be ready to want to spend your whole trip inside the property, it’s just THAT nice!
That’s all! Hope you loved the segment.
