The Christmas LBD

26 December 2014

Food images are via my trip to Salvatore’s pizza in Boston. If you’re looking for insanely affordable and low-key appetizers, pizza, and gluten-free options, this is the place. The Seaport location is great for date-night. Make sure to get the squash pizza and try the nutella pizza for dessert.

It seems as each year, the holidays always play out differently. Last year, Christmas was cooked by me (that part is always the same) and I celebrated with presents on Christmas Eve. This year, my mom had to work (she’s a nurse) so my dad and I decided to go up to MA and visit his parents. Since they are Jewish, we had sushi and Chinese food for lunch. I forced my dad to allow me to stop in an empty, grassy field on the way back to snap some shots as the sun was going down, before returning home for me to cook a delicious dinner. My family story is pretty unusual, but isn’t every family a little crazy?

The cool part about life is that nothing is expected. I’ve tried really hard to maintain a “live in the moment” status, and that’s something that I hope to keep strong in the new year. My goals? Establish the startup I’ve been working on for a while, and give a real name to it (ooh, scary). Meet an incredible boyfriend. Spend more time doing things that are different and out of reach. Publish a story I’ve been working on for a while about something that happened in my life that changed everything.

Take an Italian cooking class.

Learn to play piano.

Maybe I’ve been watching too many Gossip Girl re-runs lately.
