THE DEBT 💸 JOURNEY part 5! One of the most crucial parts of entrepreneurship is to have a mindset surrounding money that’s not obsessive. As a self-made entrepreneur who didn’t grow up with any money, I’ve struggled with trying to balance getting excited about making money but being realistic about paying off my credit card debt & also taking a salary.

The fall @befearlesssummit in Connecticut is the first investment I’ve gotten into this program from a university which is HUGE. It also means that I’ll get X amount of money upfront to last for 4ish months - how do I decide what to do with the money to make it a worthy investment for the college, but also not have me in a position where no money is left over after planning the conference to put in my savings or pay off my credit cards? Planning ahead 🖊

I’m obsessed with cryptocurrency, so I’ve been taking out some of the money in my IRA account to invest in Bitcoin, Litecoin & Ethereum (@jenikate_6 will be on @thenewunfiltered to talk about her thoughts on crypto) but to do that - I equally have to continue to pay off my credit cards. The unfortunate reality behind entrepreneurship is you’ll never have a steady paycheck. And what does a lack of a steady pay check mean? Occasionally getting out of debt to get back into debt. It happens. That’s when the optimistic and thrill-seeking personality traits have to come out to remind yourself that the ups & downs, and constant fear of not making money will always work out in the end when you achieve your biggest goal. IF you can, plan ahead when you know you’re getting a certain amount of money before it hits your bank account. Stick to your plan too so you don’t end up back in debt right when you’re out of it #FearlessFridays #TheDebtJourney #MoneyTalk

The best piece of advice I walked away from after having a show on Disney was patience is 🔑

When I initially pitched a ton of producers from a list I found online while I was living in Boston, I had no expectation of what would come of the idea. I landed that show by sending an email I had no expectation I’d get a response from... and look what happened 😎 you’ll never know when that moment will come, so you keep trying new things and pursuing your ideas until it does. #TheNewUnfiltered #FearlessEveryday

HOW TO MAKE GIRL FRIENDS U ACTUALLY LIKE 👏🏻 yesterday I wrote down a list of things I wanted to continue to pursue to make me uncomfortable & one that all of u replied to like crazy on my story was my bullet point about making new girl friends I don’t end up disliking lol.

I don’t yet know the right answer on how to do this because I actually stopped making new girl friends in LA during my 4 years there - I became so sick of conversations relating to nothing authentic, besides with my existing friends who I love! How are you making new friends, especially girls? It sucks that it’s harder to do this now - but your responses showed me that I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Friendships are a bit like mentorship: you have to create this courting period like when you’re newly dating someone that helps you decide whether this person will be there for you through thick and thin. You might not even know the answer on if they will be until something happens you want advice on, so just be open to making new girl friends, going to a bar alone one day a month (it’s scary - do it 🤗) and not being afraid to LET PEOPLE GO who don’t bring value to your life 💯 #TheNewUnfiltered #GetUncomfortable
