#FearlessFridays Extra fearless cause @grasshoppher hosted 2 #BeFearlessSummit this year 🔥 and plans to officially host a #GH only summit in 2023!

The CCSU summit was in the works before I met Heather who is the original founder of GrasshoppHer. I’ve realized how 2 founders get 10x more done in 1 day!

Though I have been an entrepreneur for 10 years, pivoting to work on a business that’s focused on hosting summits (with a very small team, still led by me) has been filled with very challenging moments. I don’t know everything and that’s OK!

A major hurdle entrepreneurs face that some don’t recover from is bouncing back in the moments where you don’t have anyone to bounce ideas off of, which can lead to loneliness & confusion. I’ve had so many of those days in 10 years, but having someone to bounce ideas off of, work through finances with & more has shaped my entire vision around business- for the better.

If you’re questioning whether to work with someone to launch a company, think hard and long about the decision. We tested out being business partners for 7 months before officially merging companies. It was the scariest & most exciting decision I’ve made in 10 years. #fearless

During our trial period, we made executive decisions about investors & funding, how we handle our personal lives & how we conduct business to make sure we were on the same page about *almost* everything. Those 6 months sealed the deal for us! #FounderFiles #entrepreneur

Just got to New Britain, Connecticut to host the 5th (!!) #BeFearless @grasshoppher summit. 2 summits in one year in Connecticut, my home state, and it feels like a privilege to bring the fearless mission home! 💖

Where’s the summit headed to next? For once in my life, I don’t have the answer to that question 😉 but I can tell you @grasshoppher plans to bridge out and host these summits so everyone can be involved, students & not students, in 2023 and beyond 🚀 which is an exciting next step! #StayFearlessOrDieTrying #CCSU

An organization close to my heart is @innocenceproject & today is national Wrongful Conviction Day.

Last night, I spent the evening with @ca_innocence at their yearly gala to fundraise for their ongoing work to help exonerate the wrongfully convicted.

It’s impossible to judge / relate to someone’s trauma & story. My childhood was traumatic as I spent weekends visiting my dad who was wrongfully convicted in prison for years. Donating to & seeing the impact @innocenceproject makes has helped me heal through the disturbing memories I have from seeing the inside of prisons, court rooms and the corrupt justice system that negatively impacted my childhood. The justice system is flawed but being angry doesn’t change the world like your actions do 👍🏻

The year my dad was released from prison is the year I started my blog when I was 12-years-old. If you take anything away from following me, I hope it’s that you have to reinvent your story and never be defined by it.
