Fox Vegas: Menswear on Gals!

28 January 2016

I just wrapped up my segment with Fox Vegas on how to rock menswear as a girl, as I’m soooo excited about it! One of my model babes Chandani flew in from LA yesterday and met me at the Plaza Hotel last night for her fitting for the shoot. I worked with her 2 or so years ago on Access Hollywood in LA, and I knew she would be the perfect model for this segment. She’s on the shorter side (compared to most models and I’m all about diversity), edgy, and your classic laid-back LA gal.

On a hunt to find the sexiest and most affordable clothes that both girls + guys can rock, I came across a few brands. Wildfang, a menswear-inspired retailer that serves up clothes for women of all shapes, was my first find. With celebs like Kristen Stewart, Ellen Page, and more rocking this brand, it’s got a following among the famous and the “normal”. Coobie Bra was another brand I knew I wanted involved. I came across Coobie years ago at a local store in my hometown, and fell in love with their comfortable and wire-free bras. With a massive selection of colors and sizes, Coobie has something for everyone. The last brand is Dickie’s, who all of you are probably familiar with. Known for being more of an industrial brand, Dickie’s has quite a selection of clothes for men and women. I wore this sturdy blue jacket on top of my clothing from Wildfang to edge it up even more, but you could easily take the jacket off an replace it with a blazer for a nighttime look.

Whether you’ve got a boyfriend to steal clothing from or not, wearing this trend is easier than you think. Simply buy a thrifted blazer one size too big, or a pair of sturdy boots that your man could also wear and you’re basically set. Make the outfit a little more sexy with some big jewels and hoop earrings, and voila! Who knew it was that simple to simply transform into a guy!?

Watch the segment here. I’m off to LA!
