Rachael Ray Show: Labor Day Makeover

7 September 2015

Today is the day! My Rachael Ray segment finally aired! After filming this piece earlier in March, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have you guys see it. This isn’t the simplest shoot I’ve ever worked on, but as long as the finished project is satisfying, I’m happy.

Though not the simplest shoot, filming this segment meant a lot to me. I got to work with Alexa, who is a beautiful teen who wasn’t confident when I met her. She’s shy, and really likes to stay out of the spotlight. Her mom, on the other hand, loves to dress up and be the center of everything. I kind of fell in love with both Amy and Alexa for different reasons. You’re e probably wondering why Rachael called Gretta and I on to revamp Amy and Alexa? Amy is a little too much like Alexa’s sister instead of mother, and we wanted to find a happy medium where Alexa was comfortable enough to introduce her mom to her boy friends and not feel like all the attention was on her mom! Consider that mission a SUCCESS! Alexa is now one of my good friends and an even more confident and beautiful girl than she was before the shoot, and Amy is now the perfect amount of sexy without going overboard.

Who am I wearing? A dress by Karen Kane, shoes by Naturalizer, and jewelry by House of Harlow.

Amy and Alexa are in Macy’s, Naturalizer Shoes and Burlington Coat Factory.

P.S. They cut out part of the segment where the brands worn were mentioned, so I’m so sorry if you left the show curious to what pieces were shown and where to purchase them!

I hope you loved the segment and I can’t wait to hear from you guys about you Labor Day Weekend stories! Watch it here if you didn’t see it live.
